I've had this problem for a while and it's driving me nuts. I will take it to mechanic, but would like to know first if there's something I can do for it. Sometimes it starts, sometimes, doesn't. The thing is, battery is fairly new and I got it tested at AutoZone yesterday, it's fine. If it doesn't start, no noise comes out, but the fan kicks in occasionally. Also, when I give it a jump start, it starts right away. Also, when I got a push start yesterday (it's standard), it kicked in right away. They tried to tell me it was the ignition switch. Doesn't seem like. Maybe cables around the battery? Usually, when I jump start it, it will start on its own next few times. It's like it needs a boost once in a while. The nods on the battery were already changed. Please advise.

Battery cables may be loose or corroded and just need to be clean. The starter could be at fault because of faulty/worn contact points in the solenoid.
