Not sure I understand the question, but if you mean our "forefathers" died at the Alamo to protect the US from imperialist Mexico, you've got your facts backward.
At the time of the battle there, the Alamo was IN MEXICO, Texas was part of Mexico, and the people fighting the Mexican army there were fighting a rebellion against the legally constituted government of the territory. Texas landowners were Mexican citizens, who had sworn an oath of loyalty to the Mexican government in return for the right to have their farms and ranches on Mexican territory.
Now perhaps they had good reason to disavow that oath and rebel, as we did from England in 1776. But it was still a rebellion, NOT a fight "to protect America from imperialist Mexico."
They were rebels--or supporting the rebels--and they died because of it, however noble you might think their reason. Simple as that.
