I don't think it is, I just think its a good way to get someone's attention through just typing.

It's not RUDE it's just part of the computer game people play. They call it yelling. Isn't that sweet? When in fact caps are easier to read. This is good too. Yup for yes, yup is a lot shorter than yes.lol

Because on here its considered the equivalent of yelling. When we read things, we tend to read it in a way that we interpret a tone. All caps does not send a good tone. That's why its considered rude.

i hate it when people use all caps cuz when i read it, it sounds like the person is yelling every word and it sounds really really bad and mean in my head. THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS. I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE DO THIS. THEREFORE, I NEVER DO IT EXCEPT FOR WHEN I USE CAPS FOR ONE WORD OR SO.
But using caps properly isn't bad at all. Using lower case letters is softer, and in my head, it sounds like a person is talking, not yelling.

In the online chat world, supposedly it has come to mean the equivalent of shouting at someone, so therefore is considered rude. Beyond that, in our english language, capital letters have their definite places, such as at the beginning of sentences, and for proper names, like "Atlanta". So, using them for an entire sentence is just not structurally correct english.

Since your font and caps, represent your voice and tone when you type, the use of all caps shows anger and disrespect. It's the equivalent of someone in front of you ,yelling at you "By God, it's my way or the Highway!!!!"

Hello Cookie,
In our typing class we were taught that typing in capital letters was to be thought of yelling, mad and last alternative to get a point across after several attempts.
(Only what I was taugh maybe different in today's learning's)

It's seen as the internet version of shouting.
But I only see it as that if the option to use bold or italics is available, if not I also see it as using emphasis.
