The Mayan civilization, known for the accuracy in their calendars and predictions, have determined the world will end in December of 2012. Also a couple of other none related ancient civilizations have made the same prediction for 2012. Do you think as the year approaches, we will hv similar hysteria as we had asssociated with Y2K ???

In regards - 2u-Sister...the Mayans DID accurately predict the end of their own civilization...they predicted they're doom with the arrival of white men....which happened upon the arrival of the Spanish...what is interesting is that the Mayans had NEVER seen a white person before !!

Let's hope not....although 2000 came in perfectly peaceful, the hysteria with y2k was crazy.
The bible says we won't know when the world is going to end, somehow I can't see the Jesus calling up the major news networks of the world and saying oh btw dec. 21 2012 , I'll be baaaaaaack. LOL.
What may occur is a change towards a more positive outlook, less angst. I guess if we're all still here dec. 22nd 2012, we'll know.

At the rate of hate rate in the world it could be sooner. The Mayan civilization predicted the end of the world 2012 but their civilization failed to predict their own demise. Keep putting money on your 401K because you may live longer than you think.

Yeah, the whole Y2K thing, the June 6, 2006, the whole 1999, 1997, 1989, and I think Oct. 5, 2004 thing. It ain't gonna happen. Based on my faith, we should always be ready for the end of the world. Jesus Christ said it best because we will not know the day, or hour. I just think everything will be fine. Enjoy life have a great day! :)

If only the would calculate who many times "The End of the World" has been predicted only to be proven false. What would Televangelists do without their "The End is Coming" fears?

No. Most people will not even be aware of those prophecies. Most of the "hysteria" I noticed coming into Y2K was amoung the IT geeks who were trying to keep our computer systems functional during that transition.

Yeah. Like the world would end 4 days before Christmas. WalMart, K-Mart, Target, Macy's and all the other giant retail conglomerates would never allow it! -RKO- 06/17/07
