No this is an issues that I believe will never be resolved. People are too opinionated on things that really have no effect on them. Abortion, gay marriage, racial issues, and gender issues will be fought through the court systems as long as their are people on Earth.
I think all it would take would be for the people opposing this issue to realize that if someone has an abortion its really none of their business.
I also think it would help if they were performed in an everyday doctors office rather then an abortion clinic because then no one would know what a person walking out of the clinic is walking out of it for. Same goes for advertising..people shouldn't advertise it..there is no need for them to let everyone know about it

Even if one side wins out, the issue of abortions will still be there because women will still need abortions. If the anti-abortion (they are NOT prolife since they are for the death penalty and war and some have even been terrorists) people would learn to worry about their own families and not others, then it would go away. If the anti-choice people win, then we will again have women going to unqualified people to get abortions and dying from them. Either way the issue will be with us until the Christians learn to leave people alone and not try to force their beliefs on others.

There will never be a resolution to the abortion issue. As long as anyone sees a fetus as anything less than a human being, there will be those who will justify murder by reasons of convienience. Any rational and responsible person knows that life begins at conception, ( this is a scientific fact), but irresponsible and selfish people, men and women, choose to ignore this fact because to accept it as truth would brand them as murderers, and they prefer to think of themselves as free minded individuals exercising their freedom of choice. It is tragic that people who demand a second opinion when it comes to their personal health, will use the opinion of a single physician,(i.e. a fetus is only a lump of flesh with no human characteristics), as an escape clause from having a child because it was not a part of their plan. Irresponsible and selfish women who become pregnant because of their promiscuous behavior are quick to jump on the "Women's Rights" bandwagon and point the finger at the male population as the source of their problem, and the hinderance of the solution. Unwanted pregnancy is the result of irresponsibility and abortion is the solution of the selfish. So the abortion issue will never be settled as long as there are irresponsible and selfish people, and those who have the guts to put it in their faces.

I agree that this kind of issue will never be resolved. There's far too many people in the world, that have an opinion one way or the other. I dont see all of these people suddenly abandoning their beliefs or opinions, call it what you will. It is not about men controlling women either, legislators are male and female. It is about the right to choose, and as long as some feel they have the right to choose for the many, there will always be disagreement on this and many other issues.

I don't think it will ever be truly resolved despite the laws that govern abortion. No matter what one side or the other is going to be upset.
But I agree with the first responder, it's more about control than any concern for life. These same people who are anti-abortion are sending our young men and women to their death in Iraq. Hypocrisy!

The USA has too many self righteous Christian whackos who need to hate someone, somewhere, for something. The Abortion issue is perfect for them. They admit they are a miserable minority, which is why they no longer try to get a constitutional amendment banning abortion, but instead simply try to get Roe v Wade overturned.

The abortion issue will continue as long as there are men who wish to control women.

getafix is right. There are many women against it and there are many men for it. Its that there is not a concensus, its a largely divided issue regardeless of your gender.

It will continue until it is taken out of government's control. Before women used doctors and went to hospitals to have babies, nobody knew and nobody cared.
