I'm a hispanic student with biology major and have a good academic profile, but beside an outstanding MCATS, what else can I do to better my chances?

Unlike West coast medical schools, Ivy League schools tend to look at the complete person, not just GPA and MCAT scores. All else being equal, what else do you bring to the table? Are you involved in any social work? Are you volunteering at a local hospital? Do you belong to any social sororities or organizations (Rainbow, 4H, Jobs Daughters, etc.)? Are you a musician? What are your reasons for wanting to be a doctor? What have you done to show you're already motivated to be not just a doctor but the best doctor you can be? Why do you want to go to "our" school, vs any Ivy League School (a question you are sure to be asked). They don't want a robot, nor someone legally blonde, they're looking at those potential doctors who will bring honor to the school's name once they've graduated, and that's something you have to have inside and be able to show them when it's time.
