Good friends are hard to find these days, and although my only few friends are thousands of miles away, we still try to connect and talk as much as we can. I kept in touch with people i knew from middle school, some drifted some I still IM, but the way I see it, I'm doing my part to keep these friendships last. I normally make plans with some of these old friends once every 2 or 3 years, despite the geographical distances (were talking continents)
Anyway, start slow, Im sure if you plan your evenings ahead, you can plan a night to hang out just the two of you, reflect on those 7 good years you had together. Like start with a one hour "meeting" at the cafe or such. Let the friendship grow back. Once the flame's been rekindled, try inviting him to parties and such.
I would rather have the guy as a living friend than a living memory.

Well is sounds like you have you mind made up. Just tell him you will get back to him next time he gets in touch and if you really don't want to hang with him because of the past then maybe you ought to Man Up and tell him why you are hesitant and get it out in the open. Give him a chance to tell his side. It would be real shame to lose a potential friend over a misunderstanding.

he def is tryign to keep u there. not necessarily in a good way or a bad way but he just wants u there as a friend, but doesnt want to actually hang out..
next time he says 'lets chill' be like make plans and we will but for now i have other things to do.
possibly the reason he never makes or calls is becasue u blow him off when he does?? if thats the case.ddont blow him off anymore

Guys are stupid and dont take a girls feelings into account when they want to make plans and most men cant remember making plans unless its stamped on their foreheads....I'd just pop in on him if you know hes home bring a coffee or a soda or something and chill with him for 15 mins just to re aqcuaint yourselves see if its worth it..if not you can get up and leave when whatever you brought to drink or eat is done.

Follow your own advice. You are doing fine without him why get into drama with him?
Continue in what you are doing and let him be someones elses problem. Youare doing the right thing-do not change your plans continue on task.
Take care-you seeem to have your head on your shoulders-keep it there!
