take some friends with you and do it in a public place, then if he is cool you can hang out alone some other time.

NO. No, no, no, no, no, no.
Gosh, was that clear enough?
Hon, let me tell you something about men and women. A 4 year difference in age means NOTHING after about the age of 30. Between 25 and 30 it's an issue, but not a HUGE one.
At your age a 4 year difference is a HUGE chasm for a great many reasons.
1. At 16 I hope you have not finished high school...he should have done so and is either supporting himself by working or going to college and is in a whole different mindframe.
2. If he is NOT working to support himself or going to college then chances are he is mooching off his parents or someone else, meaning that he is too immature for you anyway. You want a man when you get into a relationship, not a boy.
3. You are assuming that he really is 20. Maybe he's older and lying to you. Even if you've seen him on webcam doesn't mean he isn't 22 or 24, or even older. He might just have a babyface.
4. MOST IMPORTANTLY, a 20 year old man should be thinking about his future and finding an EQUAL with whom to have a relationship. Men who are seeking a woman significantly younger (and at 16 and 20 you are incredibly young compared to him) generally do so for one of two reasons:
a) He is not mature enough to have honest, equal relationships with women his own age. That's dangerous.
OR b) He is purposely looking for someone he can manipulate and/or control. Even more dangerous.
Let me ask you: have you told your parents about this guy and about possibly meeting him? My guess is that you haven't. You might be bragging to your girlfriends that you have an "older man" on the line, but you KNOW in your heart that your parents would have a proverbial cow, and for good reason.
Honey, get OFF the line with this guy. He's not for you.
Take care.

You're just asking for trouble. First off, a 20 year old guy shouldn't be looking for a 16 year old girlfriend on the internet. This is exactly what all of those talk shows are about. If he IS, then he's got problems, or issues. Either way, you don't want to have anything to do with this guy.
If you do go meet him, make sure you get a copy of his driver's license, so the police can go arrest him after he rapes you.

DON'T DO IT!! There are many pedophiles trolling the internet, looking for girls like you. They invest alot of time talking with you to make you feel comfortable enough to meet them in person. This guy is still a stranger to you. You have no idea if what he had told you is true. These men learn what you want to hear and say it. They are very good at what they do.
My niece had a guy get on her myspace and leave her messages. She did not respond. He somehow found out where she worked and showed up there. Eventually, he and 6 other guys were arrested for using myspace to meet and sexually abuse girls.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!

No leave him alone. A 20 year old man has no bussiness on the internet meeting teenagers. I no its only a 4 year age difference. But think about it like this. When you turn 20 are you going to be interested in meeting teenagers??

If you were my daughter I would be worried sick seeing your question here.I suspect your mother doesn't know about this?
I was watching something on tv the other day, half watching, half reading a book.It was Missing Persons, and they were appealing for information on a young man that had gone missing after meeting up with people he'd made friends with on an Internet chat room.
I ask you as a mother of two young sons, please, do not do this.

No, I don't think it is a good idea. Even though you two are only four years apart there is a world of difference between a 16 yr. old and a 20 yr. old. If you enjoy conversation with him, remain cyber buddies, but that is where you should draw the line!

NO. Definitely not.
I don't think that age difference is even legal.
Besides, how do you even know that he's actually 20?
Don't do it.
But if you really want to meet him... my only advice would be to do it in a public place during the day time and do not go alone.

You should not meet him by your self. Get a friend to go along.
But meeting him on the web cam is fine. But tell someone else what your are doing.
But Ifeel that if you are just chatting on the internet or web cam it is ok as long as someone else knows what you are doing. Becareful there are some real freaks out there. Know what you are doing.

Lets say he is a "nice guy" and he's not lying. IT AGAINST THE LAW for the two of you to get together.
you don't have to pay the price, but he'll spend upto 2-10 years in jail for attempting to have a relationship with you. plus he'll have to knock on everyone's door in his neighborhood and inform everyone that he is a "child molester" Its the law.
HE SHOULD ALREADY KNOW ALL THIS. and if he's doing it anyway, what does that say about his character?
Do you want to do that to someone you like?

Sweetie your 16.. dont you think you should save that non-sense (and sort of patheticness) until youve atleast given yourself like 10 years to meet boys offline?
Why dont you stop wasting time on the computer and go meet some real-life boys instead of internet ones?
Thats very unsafe PLUS you still never know who he is. He could look perfectly normal and when you meet him still push you into his car.. rape and murder you.
I really really suggest you dont do this.
