It seems like half the teams in the NBA don't want him and the other half can't afford him.

Here's a way to look at it. Kobe can opt out of his contract in 2 years. He's at the prime of his career and is hungry to get back to the finals. Do you think the Lakers can put together a team that will get them back to the finals in 2 years? If they get someone like Jermaine O'neal, yes they'll be better, but does that give them enough to beat the Spurs, Suns, and Dallas consistantly?

If Kobe stays and the Lakers don't get back to the finals within 2 years, he is opt-ing out. He walks, Lakers get nothing in return. So Buss might have to give in to his trade demands and accept unequal returns for him and just start over. It's either now or later.

If the Lakers trade Kobe, it will be forever before they win another championship. Kobe is arguably one of the top players in the NBA..easily top 3. He can score, shoot, defend, the complete player. He also has a pretty high salary and not many teams can afford him. To get Kobe, a team would have to give up alot and that would put Kobe in the same position he is already in..surrounded by one good player (Odom) and a bunch of role players, some of which with potential. How does that help Kobe's desire to win? Easy, he wants to go to the Eastern Conference, which is junior varsity compared to the Western Conference. Kobe could do what Lebron did..take a group of mediocre players to the NBA Finals but yet still get destroyed by a western conference team. I honestly dont think the Lakers are going to trade Kobe. They would be insane to trade away Kobe AND Shaq, the two cornerstones of 3 NBA titles away within a 4 year time frame. I would only trade Kobe if I got the following players in return: KG, Dwade, Lebron, Gilbert..and with Gilbert I better get Caron Butler and that isnt going to happen.

this is significant bear in mind that the Lakers are a employer. procuring and promoting Kobe for a efficient determination might coach very difficult given his particularly severe cost. gross revenues and incentives placed his cost around one hundred million. League rules state that trades might desire to be quite even. So till Kobe develop into traded for yet another famous individual like Lebron James or somebody of that high quality, this is going to maximum probable be Kobe for 5 or 6 men. Or Kobe for we could say Tmac and 3 men. this may be an exceedingly diffficult element to drag off. additionally there is the prospect that Kobe is in simple terms making demands thus as to rouse the Lakers administration. as a results of fact the logisitics of procuring for and promoting Kobe are difficult, this is extra probable the Lakers might get aggressive approximately surrounding Kobe with extra suitable expertise. So in different words. i do no longer see a commerce happening.

I don't think they'll trade him, Dr. Buss will give his right arm before Kobe leaves. If he is traded it will be interesting to see where he goes, and what happens while he's there. He's already screwed the Lakers over; lets see if he does it again with another team.

No. Kobe stays in LA. I want to see him traded, but it wont happen.

Theres no way the Lakers get equal value for Kobe, unless they either A. Traded him to Cleveland for LeBron. B. Traded him to Miami for Dwayne Wade. C. Trade him to Dallas for Dirk, or D. Trade him to Minnesota for KG and this years draft pick.

Note: None of those trades even have a 1% chance of happening.
