okay I jammed my finger on the 5th of June and I still can't bend it all way. my mom's a nurse and she doesnt take me to the doctor for just anything. I've been taking Ibuprofen and going easy on it. the joint is really loose, the swelling has gone down a lot but it is still swollen on the knuckle. should I just wait it out? I kinda in a time crunch. I leave for a international swim meet in 24 days. and I have to train. but I can't train with my finger like this. tape hasn't been staying so I've been going without anything. but if I hit it the wrong way or push the water wrong it hurts. I have iced it. I don't know what else to do. FYI. it poppes when I bend it. but it doesn't hurt all the time. what do you think I should do?

You don't need to bend it to swim. Tape it until the swelling is gone.

i think you should get an x ray to be sure especially since you're going to be swimming. good luck at the meet.
