Would anyone ever describe their emotions in this manner in regrads to the man who was responsible for your birth?
This is a questions for ladies and gemtlemen ....others are requested to kindly take a pass if they feel they do not qualify for any of these two titles.

It's horrible to say, but it means that she annually celebrates his demise.
After all, he was male.

Tradition used to be that families would get together on special days and have picnic's at the grave site. The surviving family would read poetry, sing, and sometimes dance.
"Dancing on graves" has a dual meaning. For some it's celebrating the life of the deceased, and for others it's desecrating the site and the memory of the person. However, I do believe that this action can be what gives the "survivor" justice or the ability to "forgive" ... in which case, I hope ppl dance on my grave when I'm gone for what ever reason they feel the need to.
I personally go to my Dad's grave and play the violin ... ahem ... practice. We used to argue sooo much about "lessons" ... so, I think this is a great way 4 me to still be bonding with Dad on special occasions. I sound much better than I did in Elementary School T.B.T.G!!!

If you look around the funeral get together you will probably see stern, sober and serious faces. But behind those faces you can find some sad people, perhaps nothing got left to them, and very happy people who got something and are glad their father is gone. And then there are those psychos who are just glad to get the old guy out of their lives. Then there are those who express themselves because they believe the personality of the deceased fuses somehow with eternity in living and loving way. Which kind of happiness are you? I'm a little of each I think although I know I wont be happy when my dad is gone. Not to the bouncing up and down with glee anyways. And I know he is in good hands and I hope for the best on a fine journey. To each his own...

I'm not exactly sure. My father was killed in a motorcycle accident when I was 16 and we spread his ashes at his favorite place on earth, our 40 acres in Cortez,Colorado. We did it on the 4th of July because that's when most of our favorite memories were made. When I get the chance to visit I honor his memory by doing everything that I would if he were there and he was kinda wild so it's nothing disrespectful.I've heard people say that your same sex parent is the biggest influence in your life.In my case I would have to disagree. Don't get me wrong I loved my mother but my father and I did everything together and he taught me a lot in the short time he was here.Happy Fathers day to my Dad and all of you that have fathers that are living please don't take them for granted.
P.S. To who ever said that it's just your mother that is responsible for you birth,I'm sorry if your didn't have a good father but their not all like that.

Maybe she wasn't sarcastic at all.
In the Southern US, where I am from, some people actually have parties at the grave sites of loved ones on holidays.
Mexican people party hard at grave site, including bringing beer and spirits to pour on the graves.
So we could be dealing with cultural differences.
Please let this go,
if only to show what a strong person YOU are.
Good luck

Don't feel guilty. My Father was a good Timin' man and partied all the time. He always told me he wanted to be remembered by celebrating what he enjoyed in life...Dad, this Bud's for you and so is the Joint!

I suppose it points to having had a rather unhealthy relationship with him in life. That's really a shame.
It explains a lot, actually. If you grow up thinking all men can't be trusted, then anyone who allows herself to "be dependant" on men, such as a SAHM, must have problems or be secretly miserable. (The person you're referring to took the liberty of psychoanalyzing me by email. Apparently, I only THINK I'm happy. ) It's really too bad. A lot of good things can happen when you allow yourself to trust others.

What's it to you?
Mind your own business. You know nothing about the circumstances. For all you know the person could be alluding to a traditional "wake" - Irish style!

Here's the proof of your allegation, right?

"anyone who allows herself to "be dependant" .. is vulnerable? This is an original observation of mine? You've never this before?
Dependency=vulnerability.
EUREKA!
What a revelation!

Now, Man in search of answers I want you to listen to me and I want you to listen good. It is known that you have had dealings with this person in the past. You agree? Now here comes my advice; you cannot change another person, you can only change yourself.

When your parent is dead, you can't have much fun with them. She was sarcastically commenting on that fact.
EDIT: I wouldn't know. I can't get inside her head.
EDIT: I at least know her well enough to recognize her sarcasm.
