A. The person is very knowledgeable in the category.
B. The person has friends-contacts and compelled to favor them above other users.

I always agree with my opinion on any survey. The Top Contributor icon in my case is target practice for the thumbs-down masked man.

I must say I don't know. I don't think I have much more knowledge than the next gal/guy, and I definitely don't have any friends at Y/A....the Top Contributor tag just appeared under my foot last week.

Its B Not only that allot of them vote for them self . I was top contributor once and hated it . Ignorant people would pick me because i was one of the top contributors for that reason alone

I'd go with A--and since it's my opinion, I'd probably agree with it, unless I'm annoyed with myself for some reason and decide that my opinion is invalid.
I can see, however, that B also has some merits--if you're someone with a huge fan base, you could easily let them know that you answered thus and so to such and such question, and they'd probably vote for it as best answer, with he understanding that you'd do the same for them.
Sounds a lot like politics to me! :-)

I agree mostly with A....only because most I know here to don't care about the Top Contributor thing. I don't favor my Y!A friends....
A good answer is a GOOD answer...no matter who gives it.
