Most Windows XP systems come pre-installed with DirectX9, but just to be sure follow these steps to check your version

Click Start > Run

In the box type "dxdiag" without the ""

If a confirmation box pops up click yes

now you should be in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool

On the "System" tab, the one you start on there is a box with "System Information"

Inside this box you should see information based on your computer.

Near the bottom of said box there should be a bit of text reading "DirectX Version:", next to that should tell you the current version of DirectX you are running. (For example I'm running DirectX 9.0c[4.090000.0904])

If your version is DirectX 8 or lower:
downaload Directx 9 here: http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/directx.html

If your version of DirectX is fine:
Then click over to the "Display" tab

A box in the upper left hand corner should show you various information about your current video card

The 5th item down(Usually) is your "Approx. Total Memory:"

Since your game requires 64mb or higher, make sure your video card is higher than that.

If your "Approx. Total Memory" is too low:
You may need to purchase a better video card, witch may run you $50 to $200 depending on where you go, but the higher end model you get, the less likely you'll have this problem again

If your "Approx. Total Memory" is enough, or higher and your DirectX version is 9 or higher:
Make sure you have the latest driver for your video card
Sometimes thats the simple solution to a tough looking video problem, if you need help finding drivers please feel free to message me on YIM.

I hope this helps and have fun playing your game, my mom loves it, i still dont understand the show... lol
