That is sooo cool! you are lucky to have that happen in your yard. Yes it is a Painted Turtle from the photo, here is what wikipedia has to say about the gestation of the eggs.

In the early summer females lay 4 to 15 oval, soft shelled eggs, in a flask-shaped hole. Painted turtles are amniotes[4] which requires females to nest on land. Females choose soft, sandy good exposure to the sun in which to dig the hole. Once the eggs are laid they cover the hole and leave. The young hatch and dig out of the nest on their own, they are independent immediately. Female turtles may lay up to five clutches of eggs per season although typically, they will lay only one or two clutches. Painted turtle eggs hatch 72 to 80 days after they are laid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Painted_turtle#Reproduction

So according to that, if you calculate 80 days your turtle eggs will hatch sometime around September 5th or a little before. Good luck and I hope you enjoy seeing baby turtles I know I would!!!

Oh awesome! How lucky you are!
Turtle eggs take a while to hatch, so the best thing to do is leave them alone as much as possible. if you can, try putting a cage over them, such as an old birdcage without a floor or a chicken wire cage to protect the eggs from critters like raccoons or skunks. If you are lucky, the babies should hatch in about 30-40 days.
Wow! I hope they hatch safely!
