President Lyndon B. Johnson enacted The Great Society domestic initiative. The Great Society closely resembled the New Deal plan initiated by Franklin Roosevelt.

The Department of Health Education and Welfare was actually divided into The Department of Education and The Department of Health & Human Services by President Jimmy Carter. (The DE headquarters named after LBJ - The Lyndon B. Johnson Department of Education Building).

President Gerald Ford played football at the University of Michigan.

The Great Society was proposed and implemented by Lyndon Johnson.

Andrew Johnson (one of our most inept presidents, one of two to be impeached) created the Department of Education (though, Horace Mann introduced the Prussian Public Education system to America)

And Gerald Ford received accolade for his football participation at the Universtiy of Michigan.

And for the real Ford football trivia :

"And that LBJ's oft-quoted line about Gerald Ford ("Jerry played too many football games without a helmet.") had some basis in fact. Ford played for Michigan for three years -- and didn't wear a helmet."
