No way!! Students who are in Algebra I in the 9th grade are average students. Students who take Algebra 1 in the 7th and 8th grade are the only honor students who take Algebra 1. In my city, you must pass Algebra 1 to get promoted to the 10th grade.

no, you are in your right level of math
and you are doing very well
algebra 1 is just like pre-algebra
its not hard at all
