I just had a dance recitle
and this is my first year in hip hop and 7th year in ballet
I am very shy to dance around my parents
but then when it camt to my recitle, my mom saw
and I was just having fun on stage
but after my dance, my mom told me she never knew i could dance
was this mean?

Well she probablly means it as a compliment, but it sounds like it came out the wrong way. It came out mean, but she had the best of intentions with it, by the looks of it.

Who has been paying for dance the last 7 years?? lol

I think I understand your question.

It sort of is mean because it's showing she doesn't really pay attention to your talents and stuff.. Atleast she went to the recitle because atleast she knows now.

take it as a compliment girl.. ur mom probably said that bcuz ur always to shy to dance in front of her and family, so she probably assumed u couldnt dance...lol.... dont worry but thats why u cant be so shy.. well glad i could help.. anyone can add me as a contact if any one wants...

I think she probably just didn't realize how good you are. Take it as a compliment and maybe now she'll start paying more attention to what you're involved in.

It was a good thing! She saw you differently this time and realized just how well you could dance. You woke her up!!! She was surprised and proud :)

No...it was a compliment..it just means that she had never seen the serious side and now that you have her attention she'll be more supportive.

i think wat she meant was she never knew u could let loose like that. And mayb cause ur shy to dance around them she was happy u could finally look lik u were havin fun on stage. Don't take it the wrong way

i think she meant it as a compliment, but kind of a wierd thing to say really, after all you said you have been in this for 7 years, ask her what she meant by it.

hey.me too.i just hate being told to dance in front of my parents alone. i feel so awkward.and after any school performance theyre like "honey you danced so well on stage can you repeat it just once in front of US.?We truly luvd it!"uggg! i can't stand those lines.
