Good ...now that you've reached the Device Manager ...the next thing you need to do is to FORMAT the NEW hard disk before it shows up on your My Computer (Win XP) or wherever it is that you access your disks.
Once that's done ....it will show up.

hi, So you've attached a new hard drive. When you buy a new hard drive, the whole of the space is a RAW unpartitioned space. So If you want to make partition/ partitions (either by Fdisk or any other partition manager software) then you have to format the partition with any file system (for windows, its FAT32 or NTFS). And after formatting, it will be shown under "my computer".
So try this solution and enjoy your extended Hard Drive

I'm guessing that you added a second drive (as opposed to replacing your existing drive)?
You have to create at least one partition on the raw drive.
Start -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management
You should be able to see the drive from there, create a partition, and assign it a drive letter.

This feels like a topic that frequently happens once you have 2 drives and that they the two have an working equipment on them. initially your information are nevertheless there yet you won't be in a position to get entry to them the style you probably did in the previous as a results of fact the hot rigidity (ok) is the single the computing gadget boots from and your previous information are on rigidity (C). There are some questions you may might desire to respond to as a manner to detect your information, like how develop into the previous working equipment set up, did anybody have their very own separate account to log into, or develop into it set up besides without log in show screen? the excellent advice i delivers for now's to open My computing gadget, then open the C: rigidity then the path on your %. may be something like...records and settings/"call"/my records/my pictures. The "call" folder may be the person call, this is the question i develop into asking in the previous approximately how the computing gadget develop into set up with various of consumers. in the journey that your MS workplace information have been saved to my records then this is the comparable course in simple terms end on the My records folder. wish this helps, Eric
