Don't be hating, we're all entitled to our own opinion, this is mine:
I'm Canadian, Raised by an American in Canada. My views are sorta distorted, I think. I'm the only Canadian Child of the 5. When we do go to the states, my family makes jokes about me being Canadian..I know its all in fun, but it bugs me. I've noticed that in the states they're taught from very young to love their Country. Even worship it in my eyes. It seems most are too busy loving their American Culture, instead of their Ethnic Culture. I've noticed they do flaunt whats in their blood line, but just categorize it as a digit. "I'm 1/8th Native American, 2/4th Polish, 1/16th french." They just flaunt the many percents and don't seem to show pride in them individually. I don't mean all do it, but I've noticed a lot do it. Their houses, yards, and stores are covered in the American flag, yet no other flags or symbols to represent who they are as an individual, just representing who they are are whole..a proud American. Which isn't wrong at all, I'm a proud Canadian. I'll always have more pride in being First Nation before I'd completely let the Canadian Pride take over.

Well in 1812 the US tried to invade Canada and in 1814 Canadians and British marched down to the white house and burned it to a crisp. Ever since, the US has hated us. It is also because some Canadian comedians went around the US and asked questions about other countries and the Americans made them selfs look like complete idiots.

I have a great respect for the Canadian People, their Land, Culture and Heritage. If it was NOT for the Canadians at Montreal Neurological Hospital part of McGill University in Montreal, Canada I would NOT be alive today.

In all my 50+ years I've never heard of Americans not liking Canadians. I don't know where this line of thinking comes from, but I've seen it on Y!A on several occasions.

As far as I know, Americans and Canadians
like each other fine - though there is usually
some good natured ribbing going on.
Both cultures have their stereotypes ... and
by-and-large, both cultures accept them.
And since I am American, I am obligated
to say: What's up with that, eh?

I'm glad to be Canadian and not American for many reasons, but do not dislike Americans. There's good and bad everywhere. The world's borderless when it comes to that. FYI: We're not more "cultured", but do have cultural differences, and some are blind to the fact.

Canadians hate us more. For some odd reason, they think knowing all 50 states makes them equal in our Nobel prizes in chemistry, literature, peace, etc. They were forced to learn the American states. Ask them to roll off the names of some Mexican ones and they'll sit there like a fool.
