do you know anyone in freemasonry and what they do?

My grandfather was a freemason in Scituate, MA. I belive it's an organization constructed for the purpose of building a stronger community. I don't really buy into all the conspiracy stuff but who knows. One of there slogans is "ask one to be one", so if your interested in joing just ask one from your local lodge. Also there is a book called "Temple and the Lodge" which examines the ties between the Templar knights and Freemasonry. It's pretty interesting and informative. They do have a lot of secretive things about them though. I remember my grandfather had a certificate on the wall concerning some post he had attained in the "craft" (nickname for Freemasonry) and it had certain peoples initials dispersed thoughout the border pattern of the certificate. I always tried to find them all. When he died a few years back, I went back to Scituate for the funeral. It was held at the Freemason's lodge and was a bit different than the funerals I had been to before. so, all in all, it appears to be a tight brotherhood gathered for the purpose of strengthening there community, and possibly influencing world events, if you belive the movies and conspiracy theorists. I'm 30, not very established in my life yet, but thinking about joining when i am. hope this helped a little.

I know some Lebanese men who are Freemasons. Most of them own their own businesses, but one is a carryout man at Safeway grocery store. He inherited money but was too dumb to be able to keep it.

I have a relative who is a freemason. He has never said anything much about it and he has certainly never said exactly what he does. I understand and don't bother asking any questions. They have their secrets and I respect that.

I am a member of masonry... And we are not a secret organization, But an organization that has secrets so I can not tell you what we do.. You have to be come a member to learn and understand what we are all about ......................................................
