Just because it's a new car, don't rule anything out. Anything man made won't last and can be defective at any time. There are several possiblilties and the most common has been covered, loose connection or dead battery. One simple quick test is turn on the key and notice the dash lights, interior light, and headlight. If they all work but go dim or go out when you turn the key to start, it probably is a dead battery or loose connection. If they don't go completely dim, it could be the starter. Of course, the starter trying to work but is frozen, it will pull the battery so much that it will dim the lights but they will immediately brighten again when the key is released. Try jumping the battery. If that doesn't make any difference, have the starter checked. If the car still is under warranty, the starter will be covered.

It sounds like the battery is low. This could be from a light being left on, or a problem with the charging system. Try having the car jump started. If it starts with a jump, and the charging system and battery are good, the battery will recharge as you drive.
If takes more power for the starter to work than for the lights or radio, so them working does not rule out a low battery!!

Battery cable might be loose which might cause it not to recharge. Tighten it down, and if it still doesn't start, get a jumpstart! (turn off all lights and electricals) Good luck!
edit: if you do get it started by jumpstart, make sure that you leave it running for a little while, and also that it can start on its own after that.

i was going to say the starter, but bying it being a new car, then i ruled that out. try the battery terminals, they might be loose or dirty.iam going back to the starter, it could be stuck, try tapping it with a hammer, lightly.

Sounds like your alternator. That'll cost you around $250.
Good luck.
