This can be caused by many factors.
Are you eating enough? Are you getting in enough protein?
Are you drinking enough water?
Do you get a chance to get out of the house and breath fresh air?
Are you exercising? If so are you getting a cardiovascular workout?
How is your sleeping? Are you getting 8-10 hours a night?
Are you taking any drugs, medical or otherwise?
Are you having any relationship issues?
Are there emotionally unbalanced people in your environment?

13 is not an easy age. But as you can see, many people experience it and it doesn't ruin our life. Thank goodness.
I think the best way for anyone to stop from having mood swings, is to wake up in a good mood. Take some time to think to yourself... What are you going to do today? What do you have to look forward to? (a tv show? a friend? anything!) And try to be upbeat in the morning. Try to feel blessed to have a new day, a new beginning ahead of you! It should help carry on through out the day.
Also, be sure to get some time to yourself and talk about things that may be bothering you. If you have to, just slowly back away from anything that may be bothering you, then go back and talk about it calmly when you are ready.
Another thing I like, is journaling. It's a great way to get all of your feelings out, whether good or bad.
If you need a quick mood booster, try going outside, inhaling and exhaling deeply, or even closing your eyes and imagining something you love (pet, vacation, family, anything!)
Another reason why people might be cranky or moody is because they are BORED! So try to find a new hobby or interest that is healthy! Try reading, writing, sports, painting, anything that you like to do! Or learn something new!
And always remember to eat 3 meals a day and get some exercise weekly and some sunshine! This is important for your body!
Good luck and remember that you are ultimately in charge of your feelings. It's good that you are realizing that you are having mood swings, that means you are aware of your body and emotions. Good job on that!

Mood swings can be from many things, one is loss of muscle mass, if u don't replace the protein you lose after excercise or a workout, you tend to have mood swings, and may feel lightheaded.
