I'm not sure if others would agree but this card is extremely difficult install.

Here's my first question: How can I disable the onboard graphics of my mobo? I can't get the card running in the first place, because the onboard graphics keeps on coming back. I just get a black screen when I turn on my PC even, though I have uninstalled the S3 ProSavage DDR already, placed in radeon on the AGP slot (and yes connected my monitor to radeon)

My system specs:
Windows XP Professional SP2
MSI P4MAM-V MoBo
Intel Celeron 2.0GHz and 256mb of RAM
VIA Chipset P4M266
Phoenix BIOS (it says "version 6.00 PG 12-23-2004")

I don't think it's power related 'cause I got it working the other day but I think I did something really bad 'cause my system wouldn't boot and I had to use system restore. Now I can't get the card working again.

and BTW, I will be asking about the driver later. Thanks to anyone who will respond...

Hi guys thanks for the very quick reply. My BIOS doesn't have an option to disable the onboard VGA. I've looked at it one by one and there's nothing. Tried searching for words like: integrated, onboard or anything but nothing.

BTW, I believe this is my BIOS:

Guys, I think I already have disabled the onboard graphics. Correct me if I'm wrong, I did it from windows and disabled it from device manager. But Radeon still ain't working. It's just give me a black screen on boot up.

Still nothing. I booted up in safe mode, uninstalled S3 driver in Add/remove programs, disabled video adapter in device manager but I still get the black screen when I put my video card in the agp slot.

Check your motherboard manual, most have jumpers to disable inboard video, also make sure your card is snug in it slot, most of the time i have to seat the card in it slot a couple times to get them to work..... I have found it to be the card slot more often than not and on most board you don't need to do anything to the inboard video, your new card should work, just double check and triple check the slot....

You should be able to disable the onboard video in the BIOS setup- when you first power up the machine, hit or F1 or whichever key is indicated in the POST (Power-On Self-Test) message which should immediately flash on your screen before Windows starts to load. After setting it tto disabled, save & exit the BIOS setup.

After rebooting into XP, go to device manager under control panel and see if the onboard video adapter is listed. If so, select "disable this device" there as well.

To disable the onboard graphics you need to enter the bios and turn it off. If you do not know how to enter the bios i suggest finding someone who can since it is a very delicate place to be changing things.

Try Driver Cleaner Pro (its free, google it)

you start it in Safe mode, then run it on s3 and anything s3 related.
then try to install the radeon
