Is this WW3? Or just a continuation of the Crusades? Who started it? How to end it?

Feedback on the "war on terror" (Not the domestic side, we all know it was a power grab, end of debate), but on the lager global scale.

Iran won't do a thing. If Iran attacks Israel, it is a war against America, Iran is not that stupid. Israel won't attack first because they know America will not back them up if they provoke Iran. China and Russia know better not to get involved. If China wants to overtake the USA as the largest economy by 2016, they know war, especially a world war in the middle east will not help this. India is growing exponentially too and China knows, in the upcoming decades India will be its greatest competitor, why risk economic supremecy for a prolonged war in the middle east?. I doubt Russia will get involved either (since the fall of the Soviet Union when has Russia ever been involved?). Also, Russia, China and Iran combined cannot defeat the United States and her allies. We have more aircraft carriers than all those nations combined - times four. We can capture the South China sea in 16 hours. Our Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2 can travel 20 times faster than the speed of sound and destroy all nuclear facilities and weapons in Russia, China and Iran. These planes are so fast that no missile, land weapon or plane can destroy it, meaning it can launch Tomahawks onto known nuclear hiding places and reactors (we can track these from satellite imaging due to the heat omitted). The United States will win hands down, but this shouldn't be surprising, we spent over 692 billion dollars on our militarism per year, more than the whole world spends on military - combined, in 10 years! Also, Israel is not a NATO ally, so we have no need to back them up. Why should we? Israel should be able to defend itself. This is why we need Ron Paul in the White House, asap! I think Iran should be free to have nukes. Why shouldn't they? Look at the nukes that surround Iran...The Chinese are there, the Indians are there, the Pakistani's are there, the Israeli's are there, the United States is there. Having nukes would give Iran greater respect and would make Israel think twice before provoking a nuclear power. Also Iran having nukes is no threat to American national security. The Soviet's had tens of thousands of intercontinental nuclear missiles pointed at America for over 40 years! Iran don't have an airforce that can come and invade us. I honestly think its stupid to think of Iran as a threat, they are not stupid. They know the USA armed forces can demolish them in minutes. However, it does make me sick to here that humanity hasn't learnt its lesson. My grandfather was just 19 when he went off to Normandy in 1944. That generation, our grandparents, they fought on the beaches, gave up so much. They defeated Hitler, brought us out of the great depression. That generation sent a man to the moon, fought successfully for civil rights and brought down the iron curtain. We never learn our lessons. War is the most horrible thing in human history, we must avoid it at all costs. As the UN Charter, article 1 states, the purpose of the UN is to, "save succeeding generations from the scourge of war , which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind". War is never good. We will do all we can to prevent war, especially WW3.

It began before the Crusades. The conflict between Sunni and Shiite Muslims. In 960 after Mohammad's death there was a war over who would survive him since he left no successor. The war between Christians and Muslims began with the first Crusade. The war in Iraq has highlighted the differences and opened up old wounds. The war on terror will not be won by guns and bombs. We need to work to outlaw terrorism in every country in the world. As far as WWIII is concerned we might be close. If we invade Iran I believe we will have pasted the point of no return.
We need to take care of our home defenses and strengthen the border.

You can't compare it to the Crusades, because the "opponent" will end up wanting Western civilization.

Youth in Iran are bored with the backwards, bearded Mullahs who spout trite nonsense. Iranian teens want music videos, Western movies, and the excitement of America.

People in Jordan outwardly act in accordance with Islam, but as soon as they get indoors, the absurd costume comes off revealing women in Donna Karan and Channel.

When the people of Eastern Europe saw the truth about Western Europe, when they saw with their own eyes the night and day difference in lifestyle, they seethed with anger, bitterness, and envy. That helped to collapse Communism. Now that people in the Middle East are seeing the advantage of Western civilization, they will discard all the centuries of self-defeating backwardsness and embrace some form of democratic capitalism.
