The Big West and the Pac-10 Conferences will battle for west coast supremacy this week in an a typical location...Omaha, Neb. With the eight-team field for the 2007 College World Series completed, the left side of the bracket is comprised of two Big West (Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine) and two Pac-10 (Defending Champion Oregon State, Arizona State) schools. The west coast champion will face the winner of the right side of the bracket in a best-of-three series for the national title.

This season the Pac-10 holds a slight edge over the Big West Conference with a 38-34 record, but individually all four schools have fared well against their opponents. Cal State Fullerton posted an 11-2 mark against Pac-10 schools, while UC Irvine went 6-4. On the flip side, Oregon State tallied a 3-0 record against the Big West and Arizona State went 2-2, losing two out of three to Long Beach State during the regular season and defeating UC Riverside once in postseason regional play.
