Those Jeeps did not come with big enough radatior any way If the torque converter is failing the trans dipstick will be to hot to touch and fluid will smell burnt. Low speed over heating pick any of the folowing... Fan clutch, radatior, slipping belts leaking worn water pump, or partaly closed thermostat.

I wouldn't think so. A bad torque converter can make your trans. slip, not move, and even die when coming to a stop but I don't think it could cause an engine to overheat. I would have the cooling system ( I.E.) radiator, cooling fans etc. checked out.

it sure can, because the torque converter what runs the front pump, which circulates the tranny fluid, but overheating, i would be checking the cooling system first, like the thermostat for starters.in hot weather, why dont you do like i do. when iam stuck in traffic i throw my tranny up in neutral to help it stay cooler, takes the strain off the tranny.

No.

More than likely you have a radiator fan that's not working, a plugged radiator, blown head gasket, worn out water pump, loose fan belt, low coolant level, faulty thermostat, or bad fan clutch.

it may in simple terms be low fluid. attempt preserving the fluid point up with the aid of checking it in many circumstances for a week. in the journey that your tranny shifts out positive at the same time because it particularly is finished then in simple terms get the leak fastened.
