Have made speaker pods for my pickup and have finished covering the forms with material. I intended to cover the stretched tight material with the fiberglass resin with a paint brush to complete the form. I was going to use a whole can of bondo resin for the two forms. I added the whole tube of hardener and it solidified in under a minute. What did I do wrong for I wanted to brush it on and then leave it dry. Did I add too much hardener. I thought using the whole can the mix would be right. I guess I was wrong. Please help for I have never worked with resin. Thanks in advance.

you need to cut way down on the hardener for it,it only takes a small amount mixed in right it will give you a working time of about 8-10 minutes, and after that it will start to harden up,it doesn't take the whole thing of hardener for the can, mixed right there will always be some left over, good luck with it.

Experiment on a small scale first outside temp and what the surface thickness desired and only mix a small quanty and brush over the cloth pour brush out pour brush out make sure you have plenty of cardboard to catch drips and have the work piece near to you up on plywood nailed to saw horses or bench covered with butcher paper over cardboard works. The key is no bubbles under the fibreglass matt.

It was smokin huh? Yeah know what ya mean, every fiberglass kit is a little different, test a little bit to get it right then mix it the same on larger scale.
