It has more to do with opinion and real life experience than a professional DIY help. Some of the DIY sites are so complicated you surrender and hire out when you really could have done it on your own. This forum just helps a person get the confidence to really do it on there own.

Because people are looking for the "Magical" answer. One that will involve little if any work to fix the problem. The DIY sites have the answers to most questions......BUT THERE HAS TO BE AN EASIER WAY !!!! What do you mean I have to get dirty or wet? You mean I can't fix it with a butter knife and the heel of a shoe ? :-)

I've done do-it-yourself repairs from directions found on search engines but the directions don't give the best advice on what can go wrong!
When you read the answers here you can hopefully get advice from someone that's done it and run into the pitfalls that any home repair project usually has.

Because people don't know how to use search engines or they are too lazy to do the research for themselves. The same problem occurs in all other categories too.
