With my little girl I got to 42 weeks and I never dialated and she never even dropped. So they went ahead and did a bikini c-section. I do not want to have a csection with my little boy but does anyone know of the chances of what happened the first time happening again?

I don't know the exact odds, but every pregnancy is different, so don't assume that things will go the same with this baby. Stay positive, believe that your cervix will do what it's supposed to. It's possible that with the first baby that dates were wrong.

It depends on where you live and what doctor/midwife you use.
If you live in the US the chances of giving birth naturally are very small. Hospitals don't "allow" it and most doctors will find any excuse to scare you into a repeat c-section because their insurance won't cover a vaginal birth after a c-section (VBAC).
In other parts of the world there are different rates of VBAC.
If you truly want to have a VBAC you have to educate yourself and possibly get a lawyer. I good place to start is:
http://www.ican-online.org/
There you can find the latest research, advocacy, lists of medical practitioners, etc.
This article may also be of interest to you:
The length of uncomplicated human gestation.

Combine that with the fact that sometimes baby's don't drop until labour starts -even for first pregnancies and definitly for later pregnancies and you might wonder if the first c-section was necessary at all, or if perhaps waiting another week and doing fetal stress tests might have ended in a vaginal birth.

I had c-sections with my first two children and a home birth VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) with my third. I chose to see a midwife because where I live there aren't many doctors who will do VBAC's. I now know of a few doctors who will let you try for a VBAC. You will have to look around and make sure you take a list with all the pertinent questions with you on your visits. Good luck to you and I hope you are able to have a VBAC. It was truly an amazing experience.

How long ago did you have your first? The longer since, the better chance you have of a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section). But really, it depends on your doctor. Some doctors are very quick to cut, others will give you a chance to see if you can deliver naturally. Talk with your doctor to make sure he knows what you want.

Yes i had a c-section it depends on your uterus cut u said bikini then u can try for vbac.. BUT just b/c ur scar is a bikini cut doesnt mean ur uterus is the same cut.....
ALSO if u didnt progress dilate enough then another C-section is prolly gonnna happen again WHY?
b/c of uterus rupture if they have to Help ur labor along ur chances of a uterus rupture go up and most doctors dont take that risk...
So its safer if u didnt dilate enough on the 1st try to just have the c-section again (thats what they are doing to me). i was in labor for 10 hrs and they use pectoin to induce me (also that ballon tool) so my risk for a rupture this time they said is a 15% chance.. and im not risking my babys life. my doctor highly recommend the 2nd c-section
Although uterus rupture is a 1% chance (doctors said its very common and its Very Risky!) normaly the baby drowns in ur bleeding before they can get them out.... its sad but being induced rasies the chance to 5% so its like a big game of chance.. percentages sound small but the doctor told me hes seen enough in his day.

hi. regrettably the final public of females that furnish via c-area have next infants via c-area additionally. this is via the certainty that the surgical treatment leaves a scar on the uterus, and thank you to this there's a plenty bigger danger of uterine rupture in next vaginal transport (that could certainly be an significant existence danger to the mum). besides the shown fact that, this is available, you will might desire to ask your OB/GYN as they be attentive to superb.

Depends on the reasons for the first cesarean really...sometimes you can go vaginal and other times you just aren't able to or advised against it.
Discuss it with your OB/GYN, because oftentimes a first makes a doctor just automatically plan for a second C.
Good Luck.

If you want to a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) you can discuss it with your doctor and he/she will tell you the risks. In my city only 1 out of 3 hosptials will do it, so that's another thing to look into.

Every pregnancy is different. Unless you had a problem with you physique which caused the c-section your chances are not any greater than someone who's never had one.
