You probably don't have it set in the window so that the back of the air conditioner is slightly tilted downwards.
You need to have it tilted that way to drain the condensation towards the back and outside.
Also, make sure that the filter is clean. That might be why you are experiencing more condensation from it this year.

An AC unit condenses the moisture out of the air because it cools the air. This moisture is then run to a drain or a evaporation pan below the compressor, the place the warmth from the compressor evaporates it. If there is fairly some moisture (humidity) interior the air, the AC will generate fairly some condensate (water). If there is an evaporator pan, this would reason the pan to overfill formerly it evaporates. If there's a drain line, the line could be clogged up with algae or another variety of mung that develops in condensate drain structures. thus, you may in simple terms could sparkling out the drain line.

I had a similar ac and over the years it too developed a splash. Splash as in spewing out water! I finally took it in for repairs, but the estimate they gave me was more than it was worth, so I got another one at a yard sale. They say it is far better to have a refrigerated air conditioner instead of the swamp cooler, which wastes a lot of water. Good luck.

Make sure that it tilts to the back ever so slightly.... And look for the drain hole underneath outside... It could be plugged.... As an A.C. unit works, moisture in the air collects on the eveporator (the part that gets cold) and drains down to the base, so "getting it repaired" is NOT AN OPTION as it is working correctly....
Hope this helps....

The water is condensation from the condenser. There should be a drain plug on the outside of the unit that you can open to drain out the excess water.

get it checked out by a repairman (don't do without if it's hot at your place). You may be trying to keep your place too cool and it's trying to freeze up on you and that's why it's leaking, but, get a professional opinion, and use a lot of insulation on your windows and doors, and use fans alternatively.
