See im in the 6th grade, and one of my teachers always tell us a story of a 12 year old girl who got pregnant for her dad. Is it possible or is she just trying to scare us?

hmmm interesting question. Let me pick it apart first before I make my comment. Your reply is what bothers me here. Your reply reads: a 12 year old girl got pregnant FOR her dad ..... that implies that her DAD WANTED HER TO GET PREGNANT ---- LET'S HOPE that is not the case, as that WOULD BE INCEST which is AGAINST the LAW and HE SHOULD BE TURNED INTO THE POLICE!
It is NEVER OK to have sex at the age of 12! A 12 year old needs to wait to mature before having sexual relations. Just because you have a period does not mean you are mature enough to have a child. In answer to your question as stated in many of the replies you have gotten on here --- YES, it is possible, and NO it should not happen.
The next thing that bothers me about your reply is the fact that you say this teacher of yours is "ALWAYS TELLING US" about this story. Why is that? Why does this TEACHER keep telling the same story? Does it bother you to hear it? If so, go tell the principle at your school about the story, as well as your parents, and tell them how you feel.
Is this teacher trying to tell you that it is OK to have sex with your dad or something else?

Every girl turns physically into a woman at different times in their lives. I was 11 years old when I had my first period. Once this cycle begins, you are no longer a child (physically), but just because your body is capable of conceiving a baby does not mean your are emotionally or financially ready. Take a look at your history book - most girls were married off to husbands when they were very young. That's mainly because the life span of people was much shorter than it is now. People were extremely lucky to live pass 40 years.
Since we now fortunately live in a age where our life span goes beyond 70 years, then we have TIME to be young and live life a little. Hopefully during our youth we can learn skills to better our chances in living comfortable lives. If you don't learn good skills, you won't have a good job and therefore struggle throughout your life. It is really the main reason why we adults tend to warn against girls having children before they are really able to support themselves. If YOU can't afford the cost of a baby, then the baby suffers from the lack of your ignorance. That may sound harsh, but it's the hard truth.
I am quite older than you and already raising a 2 year old. I really enjoy being a mommy, but it is a lot of work. To be a good mother, you have to give up a lot of your free time. No going out partying every weekend. I would encourage you to enjoy your youth, because it will not last forever. Don't be in a hurry. If you are in six grade, enjoy six grade. Young boys are not experts in life and will probably tell you lies in order to fulfill their needs. Movies and TV tend to make sex more glorious than it really is. There is no need for you to go that far. Trust those that love you the most: your parents!

If a girl has a period, then she can get pregnant.
A period means a girl is ovulating which is emplanting an egg on the uterus wall. So if a girl had intercourse a boys sperm can fertilize the egg and the girl becomes pregnant.
So Yes, a 12 year old can get pregnant if she has had a period.
I don't know why your teacher would be telling you stories about a girl getting pregnant for her dad. That is really sick.
She shouldn't be saying such things to you.

Sadly your teacher isn't lieing.. I worked in a hospital for a few years and there was a couple who came once to have their baby, both the mother and father of the baby were 12 years old.. I have heard of girls as young as 9 having babies.. It's very possible if the girl reached puberty and starting having her period (and unprotected sex) early. The age of girls reaching puberty and getting their period has fallen in the last 20 years.. We are seeing girls as young as 5 starting to develop breasts and girls as young as 7 getting their first periods.. Sometimes the truth is worse than fiction....

I worked with a baby that was born to a 11 year old. A girl ovulates before she gets her first period, so she's fertile and doesn't even know it. Recently a story was done about a 9 year old who gave birth in another country. I researched it and found tis story, a 5 year old gave birth. Go to this link, there is a picture of her pregnant. Anyone can get pregnant if they have their period. I'm sure you know what a period is! There was a 5 yr old who got pregnant in the 1930s I think. She went through VERY early puberty. Why do you ask? You think you can become pregnant? Only if you have your periods and have 'done it' (I'm trying to keep this answer suitable for your age).

yes you can get pregnant at the age of 12 as long as the 12 year old girl has started to menstruate then its possible.

It is totally possible to get pregnant at 12. I have a boss who worked at Dept. of Human Services in child welfare and she said when girls 11 or 12 got pregnant there was times when incest was involved

That can be true. That is according if the girl had menstruation ( period ) already. In my country it happened a lot! Not just by fathers,but uncles and neighbors. And it was in the newspaper. One of the tragedy was because of her dad, and the dad was put in prison. The dad told the truth at last.

yes if you have your period at a early age you can get pregnant. my friend got pregnant at 13 had the baby at 14 she is now 25 with two kids.
