That's ironic because the person who has brought global warming to the public's attention is a Dem.

No one-including the French-has a solution for nuclear waste. The French can do whatever they want. I don't live there. But, if you do some searches, you'll find we have problems in Washington and Oregon from many, many years ago. As plants age, there are more problems but they become the problems of a different generation. There are many new plants expected to be built in the US, so I don't think Democrats are making any effort to stop them.
And Ethanol leads to greater problems too-higher corn prices, beef prices, etc.
I know Americans could find smarter solutions if they tried..Democrats aren't a lot better than Republicans with the solutions but their base wants more. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. This is a human issue.

i keep wondering when folks will stop thinking in "either/or" Dem Vs Repub, Lib vs Con. responsibility for the trashing of our planet's environment can not be left at the doorstep of either political party alone. the politicians on both sides of the isle have put their self serving interests above that of our health and the health of the planet. can you say "lobbyi$t$"?
and nuke plants are NOT the answer to our energy needs. what in the hell are you gonna do with all the radioactive waste? that cave the gov has been excavating to use as a dump site is already too small.
funny how we can put a man on the moon but can't be innovative enough to invent a cleaner energy source. of course we could but then Big Oil would have competition. can't have that. better to rape and pillage the environment and make war on the counties that have the oil.

"Dems in the US for decades have done everything to block nuclear plants from being built."
I don't recall seeing the republicans doing much about the building of new nuke plants either."
"Interesting, the French get 75% of their electricity from nuclear power."
France is also a fraction the size of and has a much smaller population than the US.

The same reasons why the republicans do even more things to destroy the planet. GREED! The republicans take it a step further and use real bombs to invade countries and kill innocent people...they're not just out to ruin the planet, they want to take a few hundred thousand people out too! All for what boys and girls? GREED. Funny how you try to pin it on democrats, like the republicans are fighting for a cleaner planet. You are typical of the republican sheep...I'll give you that.

The US Dems love the French, until the elected a Bush Supporting leader..Because up until now, France was the socialist state the dems want to turn this country into.

Exactly where do you get this information? What exactly is involved in doing "everything" to block nuclear power plants? I live in a consistently Democratic state with two nuclear power plants within an hours drive to the esat or the south. I think your info is questionable.

woah nellie, thats like saying all republicans are out for big bussiness and think nothing of the average american. we can all make things sound onesided but then i'd be a politician.oh and by the way getting us stuck in a war we can't win isn't exactly helping our planet either.

AND their new fuel ethanol pollutes more in the refining process and it is driving up the cost of food since farmers are now growing corn for fuel instead of food.
AND the batteries for hybrid cars - there are pollution problems with mining for parts and disposal of them.
