The Emancipation Proclamation was an executive order by United States President Abraham Lincoln during the American Civil War, which declared the freedom of all slaves in such territory of the Confederate States of America as did not return to Union control, by January 1, 1863. It was issued on September 22, 1862.

Are people really this obtuse? Try to think about where this question is being asked (hint: look at your address bar), and use some common sense. Yes slavery still exists but the question, even though it isn't expressly stated, is obviously someone doing homework on the subject the American Civil War and the Emancipation Proclamation. Good Lord.

Slavery has not ended in the world yet. There are more slaves today than has ever been before in the world. It is still practiced in the Sudan and also in Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, and other Muslim countries. Even though those countries have declared it illegal, many Muslim countries turn a blind eye to the practice.
There is also a large ongoing trade of sex slaves through out the world, especially in women and children from Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. Often these women are told they will be going to work good jobs for decent pay in order to lure them into the trap. The rest and the children are abducted for this purpose.

Has not ended. Slavery is commonplace in African and Asian countries. Mostly women are kept as sex toys, maids and cooks. Slaves are also kept in the U.S.A. Usually these slaves are from poor countries and expect to be servants and have a better chance at life. They are kept locked in cages or rooms, fed little, worked a lot, raped and beaten. These women are often from the Phillipines, not matter what country they end up in.

Slavery itself has not ended. there is still a trade in humans throughout the world. Slavery in the US was made illegal by the Emancipation Proclamation, about 1862 or so.

There's more slaves now in America then there were before the thirteenth amendment. Although it is illegal now it is still happening. The numbers increases dramatically thanks to the fall of the iron curtain. Now its mainly sex slaves and sweat shops. Usually brought on by human trafficking across borders. Skipping an application for a visa can land you into servitude

December 6th, 1865 with the Thirteenth Amendment. The Emancipation Proclamation only freed slaves in states not held by the Union. Human trafficking still continues throughout the world.
