No. The bachelor's degree is not ONLY for people who don't know what they want to do, but for those in that situation, it can help to focus them. The bachelor's degree is designed to build competence. Master's degree programs assume that you have already had four years of classes you would take in your bachelor's degree, and they build on that. If you haven't learned those things, you would be lost.

By the way, even in in programs which don't assume that you have had that specific subject matter for four years before getting into a master's degree program, such as the MBA, the assumption is that you are already college-educated and have had your thought processes shaped in a certain way by the time you start the program.

No, you have to finish your bachelors first and then go to masters. I don't know who told you that a bachelors is for people who do not know what to specialize in, but that is a lie. I am specializing with my bachelors right now and in order to go for my masters it is required a bachelors degree, 3.0 gpa or more, and some schools even require some work experience

Unfortunately, I do not think it is possible to attend graduate school for a Masters degree without first getting a four-year degree in undergraduate school. That is why they consider getting a Masters a graduate school endeavor. It means you have already graduated from college with a BA or BS.

It works the same way if you want to go to Professional school (dental, law, and medical school, for instance). You first need a BA or BS. A four-year degree is not as focused as a graduate degree, but it is still pretty focused and it allows you to explore what specific facet of your subject you want to pursue in graduate school.

There is at least one Masters program that you can get into without a bachelor's degree- the MBA program at Heriot Watt University in Scotland.
