Is masturbation wrong? if it is normal then why do parents prohibit it??

The Good answer is because parents believe it is a sin.
The REAL answer is because parents are creeped out and disturbed by their children making use of their sexual parts.
I was taught it was wrong (The very little my parents spoke about it LOL), and now I have two little kids, and my two year old is already squeezing/pulling himself in the bathtub. Currently I distract him to make him stop, but when he's a bit older, my husband will talk to him and explain it. I have no problem with masturbation, but speaking now as a parent, it's disturbing. When he hits puberty he'll be free to do it in his room or the bathroom. I did it secretly as a child, and always felt bad, now that I'm older I'm kind of sick I didn't know more about it and do it more often. It would have kept my mind clearer in my teens, I think.
Overall, it's not wrong, it's just that parents are greatly disturbed by it. Just lock the bathroom door and take care of business quietly. No harm, no foul.

The myths and wives tales of masturbation still exist today. One of most common forms of sexual release in males and females but still looked upon as taboo. Boys will masturbate the same there dads did and some dads come upset to find there son masturbates. Lets get rid of the myths over the "evils" of masturbation.

Many people because of religious beliefs consider masturbation a sin and is therefore wrong. If your parents are at all religious, they may well feel that way.

parents rather you go out and experiment sex with random partners and do drugs and stuff. Its pretty sad actually. A decent part will embrace masturbation. You can't supress basic natural (i.e. not with animals or rape) sexual desires with morality. Why do you think catholic priests have been indicated in some many sex abuse stories.

Some people believe it's wrong because of religious beliefs. Some believe it's wrong for unmarried people to express sexual desires. Some believe it's wrong for unmarried people to even have sexual needs.

It's absolutely normal. Virtually everyone does it. So if your own beliefs don't forbid it, "fire away," when your privacy is certain.
