I've recently broken up with a boyfriend, I've also recently moved into a new flat with little to do entertainment wise, generally speaking my life isn't perfect right now so I'm feeling restless and wanting to get up and do something not just out of boredom but out of a need to find something I can really get into.

I'd love to take up some sort of course but simply cannot afford it right now, I'm thinking about maybe dance lessons for a start, I'd also like something that does not cost money such as volunteering somewhere...

...thing is I don't know where to look for volunteering or where to look to find anything I could really get into or do, I'd also like some other options as nothing has really grabbed my attention as yet.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do with my spare time, to get me out of my flat? Does anyone have any tips on how to find or go about starting up anything new?

Become a regular reader of your local newspaper and very soon you'll begin to spot articles about interesting clubs and organizations who need volunteers.

Congratulations on not flinging yourself right back into bars in search of the next man.

You can try http://www.one.org It has been on TV a lot recently with a lot of celebrities on it. You can find volunteer opportunities in your area. Also, when my husband left for Korea for a year, I used the opportunity to go to a community college for a year certificate. If you are poor too like I was, the governement pays for the whole thing. All you have to do is apply to the college and fill out a FAFSA on the web (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/). Gave me something to do and I started a new career. It kept me out of the house and gave me new self confidence and honestly if I didn't have this job right now the kids and I would be living out of a cardboard box, so it was really worth my time and who am I to argue with FREE education! You should check it out. Hope it goes well.

Try making jewelry or scrapbooking

Go to a craft store and look around and see what catches your eye.
