I love scrapbooking and am totally addicted. Problem is, I am on a really tight budget. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? Everything is very expensive. I only have the basic things like, some paper and markers and stencils to make letters and stuff. Help please.

I go to the dollar store. They have tons of scrapbooking supplies CHEAP. Use your imagination and use household items for templates with an exacto knife to cut out the shapes(bowls, boxes etc). you can also use apples to make stamps etc. Dry your own plants for use in scrapbooking too(use sand or your oven to dry them). Good Luck!

Last spring, I helped my friend plan a beautiful lake side wedding. She had picnic baskets and that was her theme, "Life Is A Picnic!". We found really cheap complete picnic baskets at a place that was going out of business. Her budget was $1500.00. And that included a 3 day 2 night stay at a resort. She spent less then $1300.00.

i have been keeping scrapbooks for years ... and what i do is that i just glue interesting stuff i find down. i just buy a book and magazines and that's all i pay for. the rest is like concert ticket stubs, photographs, invitations from events i really likes, etc. and then i used markers etc. and stickers sometimes to decorate.... scrap booking should be rather .. cheap.

Scrapbooking was always meant to be done with scraps. That's why it's called scrapbooking. Only recently have cynical companies jumped on the bandwagon, convincing people that they have to buy premade embellishments, creating scrapbooks that look like all the other scrapbooks.

Take it back to basics and make your books into the original works of art they were meant to be. Forget die-cuts and make your own hand-cuts out of ordinary construction paper, saved greeting cards and wrapping paper, leftover wallpaper from your friends' home improvement projects, and colored paper from fliers that you receive from your town or in the local paper.

Buy the empty books at odd-lots or dollar stores.

Ask your crafty friends if they have bits of ribbon, buttons or trims that you could make use of. I know I have piles of that kind of stuff to give away.
