it depends on where women belong ..
i mean if they are in educated families and living in good cities then their status is gonna be good.......but in other case if you are from uneducated family and also living in small village .......their status is bad in most of those cases.
i think in other countries people respect women more then in india....indians is really good in many other things but not in case of womens.........
i would say in many cases their state is pityful ..... :-(

All women do not have the same status. Women are jealous of each other's status. Women use men to lower the status of other women. In the process men do not give equal status to women. Therefore, unequal status of women in India is a question mark only. It does not require any answer or all answers.

The women in India today holds very good status in all spheresin India. Now awoman in India is all likely to become president of India. What ellse testuimony is required to establish status of woman in India.

Depends on the States the women Belong to. On the whole women in the south are relatively better than other regions. But it is still a long way off from being what it should be

What do you mean by status !
It all depends from which point of view you are looking.
In most of the cities and towns its just like the male population. In some backward places women are deprived. But it is mainly caused by the elder women in that community.

In cities, a women is just an additional source of income, since most are working.

In most villages, they are just there to produce an heir to the family and do household chores.
