Social Darwinism is the idea that Darwin's theory can be extended and applied to the social realm, i.e. that just as competition between individual organisms drives biological evolutionary change (speciation) through "survival of the fittest", competition between individuals, groups, or nations drives social evolution in human societies.

Social darwinism is the current American way of thinking since the Republicans took over the White House in 2000. It's not anti-religion, but pro-society. Like darwin's theory of survival of the fittest, social darwinism dictates that those in society with the most talent, the most drive, and with the strongest ability to fit into a situation, will succeed. It's the opposite of a welfare state where the government supports the people. In a social darwinism state, the people support themselves to the best of their ability.
