Sounds like you may have a bad spark plug or plug lead. With the engine at an idle, check the plug wires with an inductive timing light. [don't look directly into the light] If you detect a miss, then replace the wire.[or complete set depending in how old they are]

The first thing to do is be sure that the fuel filter is good by just replacing it. I would then check every spark plug and every spark plug wire for being worn out or corroded. Check for vacuum leaks would also be in here. I would get the codes checked to be sure that the computer hasn't picked up something that is related. If nothing else is found, you will need to do a fuel injector pressure cleaning as the poppets inside the injectors tend to plug and at idle it is noticeable. Good luck.

sound like you have a fuel injection problem.
possible a clogged injector.
