The 12 means that the battery has been disconnected at some point. This is a "normal" code and means very little.

43 is Peak primary coil current not achieved with max dwell time OR Cylinder misfire OR Problem in power module to logic module interface

55 is the end of test code

The crank sensor is located:

Under hood, center, rear engine area, lower driver side of engine, mounted on cylinder block

The cam sensor is:

Under hood, passenger side, upper engine area, mounted on top front of cylinder head.

It could be either, but the crank sensor is normally the one to go bad. A real computer scan will tell you.

I am not sure with out a book so would only be guessing however you could check in the distributor. But if it were me I would go to the auto parts store and buy a haynes book for that year make and model of car and it will have all the information you want also Auto zone or checkers or one of them can generally tell you where like the crank sensor is located if you just call them.
Hope this helps
Good luck
