A privately owned business can ban anyone they want. . .for whatever reason or no reason at all .
However if you want to 'win' in this situation , I'd strongly suggest exposing their actions every way you can . Tell everyone . Tell the media . Tell them again . But don't take the approach of wanting to get your son reinstated so to speak . That'll draw little or no attention .
Focus instead on his good deed , quick action and the 'appreciation' and negligence shown by the theater .
I'd love to see the outcome of this .
Go get em !!

He did not interfere with a management decision as the person asked your son'' what do we do,'' so as a first aider, he is not up to the job, if it had been more serious, then the persons life could have been in danger with the aider not acting quickly enough, I would complain to the cinema's management also get a letter written by the girls parents , stating that the ban should be lifted, as he was the one who knew what to do,Well done to your son,

I'd consult with a lawyer on this one. There are two issues here - had anyone helped the casualty before your son came along? Or were they all just standing there watching and waiting for someone else to do something? How long had the casualty laid there - without being helped - before your son came along?
And secondly - NO management decision EVER overrides the health and safety of an employee. EVER. The very fact that "Management" had (apparently) not done anything up to the point when your son got there would seem to open them up for all sorts of lawsuits and legal actions.
Again, please talk to a lawyer.

If that is the way the cinema reacts to situations then why would you want to go there anyway. They are just trying to keep from getting a lawsuit filed by the woman who was on the floor due to the managers lack of intelligence to call an ambulance.

By the sounds of it , your son was right
The first aider , should have known what to do , and the first thing is to phone the ambulance ,
As for being baned from the cinema , this sounds a liitle foolish
If I were you I whould write to the cinema and inform them that you intend to take the matter further , and see what there reply is
Contact you local HSA , and inform them as to what happened , view your concerns as to the training of the first aider as he may have to explain to them as to why he delaid calling
You could as well contact your local newspaper concerning the matter

As student Nurse or any care giver you are duty bound to assist even in a street...and in fact your in breach of the Nursing ethics you uphold if you don't....although not if putting your own or others at risk in doing so....
They seem from the info you've given to be covering their backs with their ineptitude....we've become so Americanised (unfortunately) many companies are scared of reprocussions should they get something wrong.
Send a solicitors letter giving names, dates situations etc and see what happens. Tell them your cross you've been banned from the theatre for helping out when their staff obviously couldn't. When you've received your reply and apology I would never go to the theatre again.....

It sounds like you need a lawyer. The cinema management has already lied about what happened, they'll continue to lie about whatever regulations there are regarding bans. This ban should not have happened in the first place.
I'd be tempted to tell the story to the local newspaper. This is just not right.

if i was you id get the local paper involved as the cinema will lose custom
and i wouldn't want to go somewhere where the first aider had no idea what to do!
your son was in the right and the cinema are obviously in the wrong and are proving so by banning him

The REASON they are banning him, and they are completely within their legal rights to do so, is because he was a witness after the fact to the inept treatment of his friend during an emergency and the theatre is afraid of the assumption of liability in the incident.
He needs to speak with the friend's family and let them know what happened and that he can render his testimony if needed should they decide to sue for negligence.
HE himself, has no legal claim to anything.

They can ban anyone and they don't have to even give a reason it is a management decision.
I do think that it is a dreadful way to treat him, and he shouldn't even want to give them his money after something like this has happened. Personally I'd make sure everyone I knew was aware of what had happened and ask them to support me by going to another cinema, not giving money to these people who showed scant regard for his friend when she was in need.
