How can I delete some worms, like worm_rontokbro.r, AdobeR.exe, etc. in my flash drive? I tried, but they do not go away. In fact, I could not even locate them when I looked at the file directory (but I knew they were there, because I kept receiving messages that my so-and-so files were infected by them, with a duplicated one). For example, if my file name is example.doc, the worm will make a new one called example.exe. When I tried to delete example.exe, it was not found. And the worms kept infecting other files or folders that I tried to open. So far, no damage to the data or documents has occurred, but I become concerned. I kept receiving messages that my files were detected with these worms, and they were quarantined but could not be cleaned. I deleted all the files (since I have backups) and reformatted the flash drive, but the worms remained, even afterwards. Can anyone know how to get rid of them?

I had experienced this before when I tried to help a friend to recover her laptop from a worm infection. .. The worm from her laptop infected my flash drive when I tried to transfer the AVG Free setup file on to her laptop. .. So I opened my friend's laptop using safe mode and deleted all the worms in her 'My Documents' folder. I checked all the folders and files in her 'My Documents'. Then I did a system restore, did disk cleanup and turn off her system restore. After that, I installed AVG Free and Spybot Search&Destroy as well as CCleaner . Then updated and 'runned' all those programs. When all is alright I created a new restore point for her laptop. Now her laptop is working fine. .... Then I scanned my flash drive with my anti virus programs, deleted all the worms, recovered whatever I can from my flash drive and reformatted it also in safe mode on my desktop. .. . It is important that you check every 'layer' of your folders, files and documents in your flash drive. Some may still be embedded in your documents and have corrupted them. Remember to do all the steps in safe mode.

Try a online antivirus scanner and a online anti-adware/malware/spyware scanner in safe mode with network to clean up your computer BEFORE you download anything.

To get in safe mode tap F8 when booting you computer.
Choose "Safe mode with network".
Go to Start – Run - type iexplore http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html Enter(ok).
Do a full system scan. If something is found, delete it, reboot and do the same again in safe mode with network.
When that scan does not find anything you reboot again in safe mode with network.
Go to Start – Run – type iexplore http://www.ewido.net/en/ Enter(ok).
Do a full scan. If you find something, delete it, reboot and do the same again in safe mode with network.

**NOTE: Do NOT do anything else with your computer when scanning. This because you can start virus/adware/spyware/malware manually.

Wow, that's tricky--On your flash drive, too! Try to do a scan... some scanners will be able to select certain drives and whatnot. Do some virus scans, you'll be bound to delete at least one.. I hope.

Good luck!

Thats tricky. You might want to try scanning the computer several times. If that doesn't work you might try to check your C:/Windows folder for anything fishy, because that might be the root of your problem.
