it varies state-to-state, but most places if you prove you have a job/school you need to drive to , you can get a conditional (limited) license that allows you to drive during certain times of day, but if you get pulled over at the wrong time/in the wrong place (like going on a trip) you can still be ticketed for driving w/o a license or violating your conditions. Otherwise, most places let you get a learner's permit (where you need a licensed driver in the car with you) at 17 and full licensing priveleges at 18

It fluctuates state by state, but in Virginia you have to be 15 years and 6 months to get a learner's permit, and 16 and 3 months to have your drivers license. Generally it is 16 or around 16 though.

It can be as low as 15 for the permit, and here in New Mexico, if you get your permit when you are 15, you can get your license at 15 1/2. Most places, it is 16.

To drive alone, you must be 16 to apply for your drivers license. Before you do that, however, you have to apply for your instruction permit which allows you to drive only with a mentor in the passenger seat with you. Many tests are required. However, few fail them.

The age to force is different in each state, and there are various different standards on what you are able to and can't do counting on which age you're. to illustrate, some states allow you to force once you're 14, yet basically on a farm. some states alow you to get a newbies permit at 15, yet won't be able to force solo till you're 18. some states permit you get an entire drivers license at sixteen. to date as renting a van, you're able to be 24 to lease a motor vehicle.
