I think Fox News is great until Bill O'Reilly comes on TV and starts his ranting. He is a little too far right-wing for me. It was the first news channel to talk about the rape allegations against Clinton, which Liberal channels like MSNBC and CNN are avoiding because they are afraid to do anything that will make Clinton look bad. It also shows some of the positives about the Iraq War, and also shows what is really happening.

You are a fair minded observer.

You have overlooked a couple of points about Bill O'Reilly.

Bill is for gun control and against abortion, ONLY during the late term of pregnancy. These two issues drives him away from the title of social Conservative.

Fox News is number one in cable news because they fill a huge void. For fifty years the Liberals, Socialist, Secular Progressives (pick a title) have held, with an iron fist, the reins of network news. Thus, they have controlled the flow of information to the masses and that information ALWAYS supported their leftist proclivities.

A newsman explained it to me this way. The average reporter is NOT CEO/President material. They are, for the most part, simply employees working for "The Man". They hate "The Man". Couple that fact with the source of their educational background (Ninety-nine percent of Schools of Journalism are Leftist in their leanings) and you can see the reason for the unrelenting flow of that view point from the news rooms of America.

Then along comes FOX News. A drop of water in a parched landscape. Of course it is #1.

There is a push in Congress to bring back the "Fairness Doctrin". That will kill Fox News and any other voice which does not spew the Leftist view point.

Remember this: Liberals/Secular Progressives/Socialist/Communist believe in freedom of speech, but ONLY if the speech supports their goals. .

Give Bill another chance. Listen closely and ask yourself, what position you cannot support.

Remember: Karl Marx and Stalin were Secular Progressives at their core.

Fox News is still debating Bill Clinton? No wonder all the 'liberal' channels are avoiding it ..that was SIX years ago! I realize truth (i.e. living in the now) isn't always a pleasant thing, but sometimes moving on can feel so good.

Fox News is owned by Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch is a hard-core extreme right-wing conservative. He controls the content of Fox News. Sometimes even the QUESTIONS are slanted to favor conservatives. This isn't journalism - this is editorialism. Sometimes the other media outlets are just as guilty. However, if human beings are involved it isn't really possible to be completely unbiased. Very often just the way a report is worded changes the impression of the event.

To "Blue Juliet" - do you mean like the time they had the story about Barack Obama attending an extremist Islamic "madrassa" school? Get real!

Until Fox news came along, the left-wing had a monopoly on the televised news media. Now they are foaming at the mouth with rage that they have to deal with opinions that they don't agree with.

The days of objective reporting are long gone. Fox is biased to the right, and the rest are biased to the left in varying degrees. Liberals couldn't stop trying to brainwash the public, so Fox came along and balanced the equation and now the left hates it.

So much for Liberal "tolerance."

Most of FOX news is slanted to the right in the same degree that "The Daily Show" is slanted to the left,,,,, just not as entertaining.

Well, I like Bill O'Reilly and I think he makes Fox News what it is. I very seldom disagree with him. I like the way he stands up for what he believes. He's not afraid not to be "socially correct".

The left-wing doesn't like Fox News because it tells the truth.
Yep, ol' Bil's manner is a little "out there," but it improves his entertainment value and viewer base. Every network has one of those.

EDIT: Yes, they did bring up the issue that Obama was rumored to have gone to a radical muslim school, and he was given the opportunity to clear up that bit of misinformation. I think it's important to bring up and resolve issues such as this, and not try to conceal or ignore them.

O'Reilly is a good news source and I find him honest and moderate with a slant toward conservatism, however he backs the immigration bill. Now Jeraldo is a complete blabbering idiot.

Fox news has a definite conservative editorial bias, and while that may bother many liberals, their news gathering and reporting seems to be about as impartial as any other to me, as "flaming" a liberal as you are likely to find.

THe problem with Fox News is that the presenters dont give you the news they give you their news. They use subtle words and phrases like 'disent' to marginalise people. Look what they've tred to do to Obama.
