First advice - don't walk! Call someone to stay with you then lie down on your side and try to relax. You could be in early labor too soon or you could be having Braxton Hix contractions. Either way you'll be more comfortable on your side in a fetal position. If necessary, place a thin pillow beneath your abdomen for added support.

If your water breaks or if your contractions get regular at about 4 minute intervals call your doctor.

I am in the same position, although I am 38 weeks along. For the past week I have been having regular contractions (every 10 minutes lasting 45-60 seconds each) with no progress. I cry every night when I am forced to turn to my other side because of the pelvic pain. I never had these symptoms with my first two pregnancies either. My first son was born at 41 weeks and my second was born at 38 weeks.
These are all signs of your body preparing for labor (each pregnancy is different). Unfortunately there is not much that can be done about them. My doctor did prescribe some sleeping pills for me since I had gone 48 hours with no sleep because of the pain. He also recommended that I drink lots of water (and I mean a lot) -- like 14 bottles of water a day! He also said that sleeping on my left side with a pillow between my legs could help as well.
The water has eased the contractions. The sleeping pills have helped me sleep more (although not as well as I would like) but I am still in pain because of the way my baby is positioned.
Good luck!

Congrats.. sounds like you're not far from having your baby.. It may still be another week or more before you actually give birth but you are experiencing all the symptoms of the final days.. It also sounds like you're having back labor which is pretty painful. My suggestion is to try things that help relieve back labor such as sitting cross-legged on the floor or doing squats to move the baby into a better position by opening up your pelvis a little more.. Walking for 20 minutes is also a good way to help.. You can try to eat things like dates, honey, fresh fruit and veggies, granola bars and of course lots of water.. these should all help with keeping your energy up. If the pain just isn't letting you sleep then you should talk to your OBGYN.. your full-term now and there shouldn't be any problem if they induce your labor.. Other than that there just isn't any accurate way to say how much longer it should be.. Keep in mind that subsequent babies usually have shorter labors than the first.. so if this is your third it can all start happening quickly.. Good Luck!!

Sounds like my second pregnancy. My son was born only a week early, but I felt like I was in labor most of my third trimester! When I actually really went into labor, it only took an hour and twenty minutes! Get as much rest as you can, drink lots of water. When the real labor starts, you'll know!

Hi,

I am exactly the same 37 weeks with the same symptoms, but not really in labour.

Pelvic pain - what i do is get down on all fours and rock back and forth - it takes some of the pain and pressure off my back and in my pelvis.

good luck hun - not long to go now.
