After my second daughter I decided to try the depo shot because I knew other bc caused me to get really sick and my body couldn't handle them. I got the shot June 24, 2006 just that one time. I got really sick and my body had negative effects from the hormones in the shot. Therefore, I didn't get any other doses of it. Also, my periods have always been irregular between 30-40 days usually, with very very rarely missing a period before the shot, occasionally afterwards. Now a year later my husband and I decided we want to start trying for a third child to finish our family out. I just don't know how best to actually get pregnant with no idea if i'm even ovulating no doubt when I would be month to month. Also, then after I would get pregnant when could I actually test and get true results? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

➔ Trying to Conceive
I got two shots of depo last year one in june and the other in september. I just recently got a normal cycle myself. I like you, varied in my cycle as well even before the depo. I'm now ttc and I just plan to have sex every other day until it happens, unless it takes more than a year of trying. They say it takes 6 months to 2 years to clear yourself from depo...of course there are a few exceptions where it happens sooner or later. Good luck

In response to someone elses answer..No It does not take 2 years from when you get the shot. I had gotten it twice a few years back and got pregnant a year later ( I didnt try any sooner than that either it was our first time trying). I Know people who have gotten pregnant at all different periods of time after havign the depo and I also know people who had problems similiar to yours. I was considering getting the shot recently after my second child was born and I talked to my Dr. He told me to expect to not get pregnant for a year after getting the shot If not a little longer. I decided against it and am getting an IUD. Your best shot is to Just have sex a often as possible if you don't know when you are ovulating. Try to have sex daily. You can get ovulation OPK at The dollar tree for $1 and Pregnancy tests for $1 and YES they actually so work very well. The dollar tree test was more accurate for me than any other brand! Good Luck!

You can use ovulation predictor strips, they are fairly cheap if you buy them on-line. I go to www.early-pregnancy-tests.com for mine. They will detect the LH surge that occurs about 24 hours before ovulation. What I did is have sex everyother day after my period ended and then 3 days in a row once I got a posiitve test, and then every couple of days afterwards again. I got pregnant right away and am trying again for baby #2. If yu do buy these tests I would get 10-12 for the first month since you don't know when you are ovulating and will have to take one everyday until you get a posiitve. It took me taking 10 the first month.

the best way to get pregnant is to have sex often.. sorry that wasn't suppose to sound sarcastic, it's not meant that way.
Try tracking your very irregular cycle and just let it happen. Also the more you stress about "Am I yet???" the less likely you will be to conceive. Stress is not a good thing.
Also if you do want to track your ovulation and test for pregnancy without spending a bundle check out the link I've attached. The test strips are a whole lot less expensive and work the same as what you buy in the drug store but tons less $.
Good luck to you.

Now everyone can cure infertility using this natural remedy http://pregnancyhelps.info
infertility can run in the family and one of the first things the doctor asks you when you go to a fertility clinic is your family history regarding cases of infertility or other reproductive issues.
If infertility is caused by genetic disorder then it's not unusual that one of the kids (your mom) doesn't have it and another does (your aunt).
two months of trying is still to early to be concerned about the fact that you might be infertile and it's also quite early to go to a fertility specialist. Go to a regular Obgyb to get a closer insight and see what ways there are are to improve your fertility rate.
Also remove alcohol, caffeine and cigarettes from your life because they might influence your chances too. Stress is also a risk factor when it comes to infertility.

you may have to wait 6 more months because i took depo and it took a year and a half for it to get out of my system, but i have very sensitive hormones so it may not take you that long.
