i know it would never happen in a million years roller coasters in the UK are run by pulley systems when climbing and run by pure speed round the tracks, once you leave the climb on a ride and drop the coaster is running its self,
hard to believe i know but Ive ridden coasters since i was 10 and I'm now 32 and it has never happened in the whole time Ive been riding them, its impossible in the UK for the coasters that go upside down to get stuck or stop once they pass the climb,as i said before they are run on speed once they have left the climb and drop
to dh i stated that in the uk this could never happen i dont know about america

First of all, to everyone who answered the question and stated that a coaster would NEVER stop mid-loop, you are dead wrong. It's been all over the news lately that a coaster (at Magic Springs & Crystal Falls Amusement Park in Arkansas) got stuck mid-loop and the riders were on the train for around 30 minutes until they were rescued. If you don't believe me, check www.rideaccidents.com. The site lists ALL ride accidents and incidences all over.
IF I were to be stuck on a coaster that was mid-loop, I'd probably freak out, laugh, think "this really sucks" like someone else said, then I'd sit back and wait to be rescued, all the while trying to keep myself relaxed so that I don't panic.

HAHA. I guess you're pretty bored to come up with answers like this.
Well, if I was in that situation with the roller coaster hanging upside down, the first thing I would do is to pray. You never know how strong the seat belts are and how much longer can they hold.
On the other hand, it sounds exciting. I mean how many people can actually boast around and say "I once sat in a roller coaster which stop in midair and left me upside down worrying for my dear life. How cool is that?"
HAHA.

well there was a report on the news (in Georgia) recently about this. The roller coaster was running its normal track and then it got to the upside down part. Something happened and the people got stuck upside down. And it wasnt for 5 min. it was for 30 minutes! Everyone was ok, the worst was that almost everyone was light headed. If your scared of this kinda stuff....DONT watch Final Destination 3. It will scare the crap out of you.

I'm with eliza, it's physically impossible to stop in the middle of a loop because of the momentum of the coaster at that point. Its already going extremely fast or it wouldn't have enough force to get through the loop in the first place.
But I guess you're asking what you would do if it DID happen (which it couldn't) but if it did, I would probably start feeling sick/dizzy because of hanging upside down motionless. I wouldn't feel insecure, as everything is tested for safety in extreme circumstances, but it probably wouldn't be comfortable! You'd also have to watch out for your stuff falling out!

Ha ha! Knowing me I'd probably laugh and say "Well this sux!" lol because really I try to make the best of any situation, and, in most cases, laughing helps in anything! Then I'd start to talk to my friends that I'm riding with, and I'd see if we could some-how rock back and forth to make the ride move right-side up, because all of the blood rushing to my head would give me a major headache! lol But it'd be fun, and if you're stuck all day you might even get a free pass to go to the park again!!! (Since you didn't go on much else...)

DONT WORRY ABOUT IT!!! the people working the rides are trained if stuff like that happens but you cant stop upside down anyway. its impossible theres no (wats the thing called?) cable up there u'd go down to the bottom of the loop then stop. and the rides are checked to help make sure they never stop until the end

Try to reassure the other passengers that it wont take long before they all have their feet on the ground, lead them in prayer and get them to make their peace with God to be on the safe side
