Repartitioning will have little impact on performance. 40% free is rather good.

I take that your c drive has about 8 gb space which is more than enough for virtual memory (a good rule of thumb is virtual memory should be 1.5-2 times the size of your actual ram). increasing it 40gb won't help at all since your os is still using the same amount of VM. Just do what other people says, cleanup your hd. Get apps like CCleaner that helps removes unwanted cookies and redundant files. Defragmenting your HD every once in a while (especially before installing a program) will help.

setting your own page file size can help. here's how:

Yep, I think you've outsmarted yourself this time. 80Gb ain't a big drive these days, and I have no idea why you would want 4 small partitions. But with a small drive like yours, I think the space would be best used in a shared mode.

Good Luck

Perhaps your 'c' drive needs a clean out. Check your list of installed programs for any that you no longer use and uninstall them. Check your saved folders and files to see if they are all still needed and delete any that no longer serve any purpose. Then empty your recycle bin and finally degragment your 'c' drive in order to tidy up the remaining items on the drive

try just doing a disk cleanup this will free up space and allow smoother function. also do a defrag.
