As a general rule .... YES.
We would be able to offer a definite answer if we knew the make & model of the motherboard.
Very few mainboards will support RAM modules of only one frequency.
There is a small risk of generating more frequent errors when different speed modules are installed on the same board, however, if the PC gets past the P.O.S.T. (power on self test) you should be fine.
What my fellow PC guru "Danuitti" means by "dead" is that if in fact the board does not support that RAM it just won't boot.
There is absolutely no danger of damaging the board or the RAM if indded this happens.
"Asen" is on the money. Try it & see.

yes, this shouldnt be a problem, however your memory will default back to the slower ddr2 speed of 667mhz
as long as the memory is of the same type(sd-ram / ddr ram / ddr2 ram) then you can mix different speeds,i used to mix ddr speeds pc2700 with pc3200 without a problem
and to be honest mate the actual real-time speed difference is hardly noticable
note:allways put your slowest modules in bank 1/2,then the faster in banks 3/4 and 5/6
more advice can be found at http://www.crucial.com/
i hope this helps
good luck mate!

I must disagree with them. If you put that 667MHz on a 800MHz system, it will never work reliably. Things will appear to be just fine and then suddenly you'll get a windows blue screen of death. That memory will never keep up with the speed of the motherboard.

It should work fine, but all of the installed memory will operate at 667MHz...with two different memory speeds, the system will use the slowest speed.

Of course, but in that case your RAM will run with 667Mhz.

The 800Mhz RAM will work, but only at 667Mhz. So basically it is the same as buying 667Mhz RAM.

yes because DDR and DDR2 are backward compatible models that lets you install any speed you want on it as long as it is DDR2 for DDR2 and DDR for DDR.

Probably not. But if you plug it in, it will just be DEAD. You might be able to use that RAM by itself, but then you are sacrificing the good RAM that you have.
But consider this: SELL your old RAM. Visit http://www.coastmemory.com and look up your system. Then SEND them your OLD RAM.
Good luck and Happy Computing!
